Costa Rica is a country in central America. It's part of the isthmus between North America and South America. It has the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Carribean sea on the other sideMy trip to Costa Rica began in Guanacaste. Our hotel was called Flamingo Beach Resort and spa. Right outside it was the Flamingo Beach.It was just a few steps away from the hotel and we could see the Pacific ocean from our balcony! It was wonderful.
Most of Costa Rica is rainforests.We went to the canopy tours in the rainforest. The canopy tours were about 10 ziplines from tree to tree. The highest one was 1000 feet high! My mom was too scared so me and my dad did it. It was a lot of fun! The whole ziplining gear was super smelly but I didn't mind it.
We stopped at soda restaurants a lot of times to drink coke.In Costa Rica small restaurants are called Sodas.In this vacation, I was allowed to drink coke many times!
We decided to explore some of the roads near the beach.I thought we were headed into somebody's house and had to pay a fine. But it lead to a viewpoint. It was amazing! We went back to the hotel and decided to go in the pool to cool down .In the evening, we went to Flamingo beach to watch the sunset.It looked like the sun drowned in the ocean! We went to a restaurant called Don Brasilitos. It was a Mexican cuisine. But I ate pizza and the cheese slipped down when I picked a slice. My food was good but my mom and dad were very disappointed with theirs.
At night I looked down and saw 5 mosquito bites on my leg. There are many mosquitoes in Costa Rica and they're addicted to my legs!! The next day was my parents anniversary.That evening my dad planned a surprise 4 course dinner at the Arenas restaurant. But I was too sleepy so they had to cut it short.
Me and my dad also did Jetskiing in the Pacific Ocean. My mom was too scared. It was scary! The Jetski was rocking back and forth. I was holding my dad very tight. We started from Flamingo Beach and saw Honeymoon beach. Honeymoon beach was beautiful. Then we saw Dante beach. It looked okay. Then we saw Penka beach. It had beautiful pink sand. Then we saw Potrero beach. Yuck! it had dirty brown sand.
But the whole Cosat Rican coastline is beautiful.
We also took a day cruise in a Catamaran which is a type of sailboat. There was a big deck we could sit on and enjoy the ocean. Also we could order a drink of our choice. I drank ginger ale. In a little bit the boat anchored in the middle of the ocean for snorkeling and lunch.But the snorkeling gear was uncomfortable so I just went in the ocean with a lifejacket. This time both my parents were too scared, so I asked my dad how come I can and you can't? Then my dad came in with a life jacket. It was fun.
On the way back I did fishing.I caught a fish called Black Tuna. I always wanted to catch a fish but the poor thing looked so sad that I let it go.
I had a memorable time in Guanacaste and I was looking forward to visiting the Arenal volcano.
